Giving the institution a strong point of view.

The Institution of Mechanical Engineers is the voice of mechanical engineering in the UK and throughout the world. The institution had agreed on a new vision (Improving the World Through Engineering) aimed at increasing its relevance and its ability to tackle issues facing the industry. It was also aimed at attracting new and younger members. Its existing visual expression was tired and outdated and did not match this new vision.

A brand story was developed which helped to better articulate the new vision and values and to provide a better basis for expression. The new expression drew inspiration from brands which were not afraid to voice and opinion. The new look and feel were bold and campaigning and helped express a strong point of view on issues affecting the industry.
